Ye i feel ye.. I used yo be out all the time as well. Nowadays im a bit more stabalized and like to just hang out at home as well. Spend at least 50% of my time in the studio.
Recording in a forest sound awesome though, or just producing..
Me and my girl are builing a traveling van as well to go down festivals etc. Im sure i will get a proper laptop so i can produce along the way. Love to get my self inspired by different scenery's.
But youre planning on doing hybride mixing/ mastering? What devices are you planning on getting then?
Either way good luck with it man!
Few years ago I built a recording studio in collaboration with some sound ingeneers. After that leaved the place I stoped to creat and record music. I found a job as stage manager 6 years ago. and sinc 1 and half year I"m in convalescence after a big hard burnout. I kept some of the equipment from the studio. And I miss only 3 mics , some acoustic modules and build some flight case to be able to move with all the gears.
The recording station is a Tascam sx1 , verry good multitracks recorder. a midas mixer table with verry warm sound, a kit of mics for drums and voice. Patchbay multi channel headphones and a nice monitoring " foundamental audio research" and a laptop with enouth cpu power to work on mix and mastering. Time after time i will buy some other hardware. until I borrow the material to friends. like distressor an some compressor. I just need learn about bizness and I just set up my company after my demission in my actual company. The live is too short, after this burnout i understand I don't want to loose my time only to stay in live. ROCKS the live. And good luck for your van. that taste the freedom
