Inmatus, Osmose,
Can I use it as a filter to sidechain and separate heavy subbase from kickdrums?
Same application as this one, which I tried but not yet buyd (bought, I know :p)

Edit: just saw the vid of Carve and I am impressed.
Its like taking sidechaining to another level.
Cutting out just a small freq band, instead the whole spectrum, sounds to be very useful in my mixes.
Cant wait to get my hands on it.
TBC.

Well its not exactly a filter, more of a particlur frequency range sidehainer, like you found out ;)

It works wonders though. Tried it out on a track that has to much low rumbling frequenties (real subby shaman inspired perc's, a kick and a reese bass). With a little help from this Re is managed to clear it right up. Still took a lot of work, but still.

Apart from that, it's very usable as a de-esser as well!

Looks quite interesting
It is! Definetly worth trying at least.

@RFTX: Yeah it is just cutting the frequencies and very useful. I used it to to filter out guitars colliding with vocals. Quite often u have guitar, pianos or synths that you like to be there at the same time as the vocal but they are competing on same freq bands. Very useful to have the carve then.
You can sidechain (not in carve) too but then it all ducks - or automate the filters. Carve is easy :)

BTW when we are on the subject:
Here is another RE that u can use to balance mixes.. It is the Morfin XF Crossfader RE -that is FREE to download..
https://shop.propellerheads.se/product/morfin-xf-crossfader/

Here is an example:

Play the song between the markers and slide the fader between A and B and you hear. The slider can be automated
The slider CV out is connected to the OSC1 of the Thor bouncer patch and the volume of Rex Ammick as an example.
Either you change sound or volume or..

Willen have a look at the file tomorrow. I've downloaded it months ago put totally forgot about since I'd find no particular use for it. But thinking about it, I've always used a 6:2 mixer to switch between sources in stead of automating the click bypass knob. This is a more suitable option indeed... and given the different characteristics it might end up giving that little extra character as well, just how I like it :D
