Excited to join the forum. I am using reason 7, and just finished the tutorial on the reason mixer and moving on to "learn how to mix". I have a small home studio, mostly for recording my family and friends. Looking forward to what I can learn, and hopefully, one day what I can help others with.

Welcome! South Dakota, it must be cold up there and a good time to hunker down and make some music! Make sure to share your music.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I do try to work on some songs on these cold nights. I will try to get a song uploaded, having fun trying to get an acoustic guitar to sound the way I would like.

If you record acoustic guitar, try puting the mic around the center of the neck, but a bit closer to the body in stead of like in front of the body hole. Gives a way more balanced recording.

Oh sure, now you tell me, after I have already recorded it! Just kidding. That is definitely some of the problem I have been having. I have some low end "muddle" that covers the high end. Trying to "fix it in the mix" is not really feasible. Probably am going to have to re record. Thanks for the tip! What do you think of mic placement near the bottom of the guitar, with it away from the sound hole, but still picking up the resonance of the body, that is something I wanted to try.

what mic s are you using?
if you can place one mic 4 inches from between 12/15 fret and another on the body half way between the bridge and the strap button in-between the interior bracing.

Just fiddle around, move your mic/ mics up and down the neck, lissten you where you think the sweet spot is and closest to the sound you want

thanks for all the suggestions. Sorry it has been awhile, my computer crashed and I was working to salvage what I had already done. Fortunately, I was able to save all my files, and will start working again. As far as my mic, I have a studio projects TB1. I have some dynamic mics, but they don't have the quality and are more made for sound reinforcement.
