I have the Ozone Maximizer got it for $25 on sale and as of today it still is on sale. Not sure what more this new RE will have that it does not. Have you tried either?

I do really love Kuassa's eq's so i'd give this the benefit of the doubt. But im not sure if i need it.

But did you test it already then Dan?

I haven't tried it yet, got a work to finish now but I definetly will later. These two notes from its description sound interesting at least:

¨...aside from offering additional methods to manage your mixes' dynamics with Adaptive Mode, you can now push further than before without fear...¨

¨Unique Texture knob for smooth or harder character¨

I think it's worth trying at least. I also have Ozone (so far the best one IMO) and Titan (horrible, destroying sound) so I don't need to collect more but if the resulting sound would be
significantly
better, why not...?
I always rather spend money for a device improving overall sound than for e.g. synth.

True indeed. The only synth ive bought since the re thingy is parsec. Wich, frankly i havent used a lot.. I still head over to thor for 90% of my synthesis.

I do love creative fx though, recently bought Mr Overdrive; what a character! Absolutely lovely

KRATOS

24bit 44.1 khtz
texture 0.1 ms
attack 0 ms = 20 samples latency
texture 2.5 ms
2x oversampling = 83 samples latency
4x oversampling = 84 samples latency

attack 300 ms = 550 samples latency

with 2x oversampling = 613 samples latency
with 4x oversampling = 614 samples latency

maximize 20
texture 2.5
attack 300
knee 20
release 1000
dither equal 24 bit
= 612 samples latency

OZONE
irc1 speed fast = 721 samples latency
irc2 = 2992 samples latency
hard = 262 samples latency
soft = 262 samples latency

ONYX = o samples latency and 2.9 milliseconds (with ISP)

Personnaly I love Ozone for final mastering but not for live or recording because tooo much latency
I don't know verry well Kratos but with some test I like the differents colorations the problem with it is the diferents latency and then the nescessity to be carrefull when working on diferents tracks with the risk to get some phase problemes.
Personnaly I love working with Onyx because there is no latency in the individuals tracks and I like a lot the 3 differents colors ( tube, digital and tape)
but Onyx is not really a maximizer

Thanks Brandtkalk. The values looks interesting. I think once there is a sale for Kratos I but it. I think I'd better spend the money for 4dyne which comes handy more to me now.

good bit of info once again!
Bu id ont think kratos is suited for live either, dont think that is what it's designed for. See it as a mere mastering tool.

I still want 4 dyne as well, tried it once i think (more then a year ago). Dont really need it yet, but its definetly on my list as well

OT,

I have looked into and tried 4dyne it is very good at what it does and missed it when it was on sale :mad: I am building up my mastering package but who knows there might be a new multiband comp coming that
could be better for me or a SALE!

Yess
4DYNE is the must plugin for mastering and many other things
it is a multigate, multi limiter, multicompressor, but it can be a multi anything because you can inject in each band a dry fx and a wet fx and the sumum is that each band have a mix mod that shoud be usefull to decide to make multiband every thing in 4 diferent parralels modes. you can also sidechaining each band by an other one. it have an ifinity of possibilities
I think , it's the most interesting multi-band compressor ever seen, nothing comparable in vst.

And Mr Osmose you are totaly right with Mr overdrive, it a very nice RE, some day ago I tried it in insert in the 4DYNE to give some caracter and harmonics to the multi compression and with the Mr overdrive you can choose wich freqence you want be active . the results are great.
and in this thead

I discovered also the magical side of the preamp parts of revival from sononic.
Great coloration and harmonics distortions. I making a lot of experiences with this preamp this last days and it's also a must have plugin not only for its preamp.
the concept of this RE is incredible.

Ye, ive read the article once when marco released it. Very informatic stuff. Havent tried revival yet, but think i have to in the near future. I use distortion alot in my stuff, so proper quality devices will bring further enhachnements i suppose, but i'll keep loving Scream4's tape settings :p
