Rewire Just For Effects

First off I would like to say thank you Matt for taking my suggestion and making Topic link for it. I started officially using Reason at version 6.5 prior to that had some experience with 4.0. I've slowly transitioned to primarily using Reason for my music making, however I still use Pro Tools for recording. I'm familiar with rewire an the basics of how it works mainly when wanting to use the instruments in Reason inside of Pro Tools. But my question is, what would be the best way to use just the effects in Reason inside of Pro Tools. I'm not sure how to set that up. I know I could just import all of the audio tracks into Reason, an if that's the best way so be it. I just think that kind of defeats the purpose of having the rewire feature to me. Any suggestions welcomed, just looking for a more efficient way of doing this.

The best way in my experience is, to do all the producing in both at the same time and when you're done with it; export the reason bits into the daw of you're choice.
Doing a export while having the rewire active will give you a latency in the reason parts.

Or in you're case, record the vocals in pro tools and import them into reason.

Either way, rewiring is a h***le in my opinion.

Thanks for commenting. Rewire has been very beneficial to me as i use it to record my tracks in Reason directly into Pro Tools. I'm more comfortable with the mixing process in Pro Tools. However my question was more about using just the effects on tracks that were completely done in Pro Tools without having to import the track into Reason to play back in Pro Tools. A lot of what I'm working on right now was completely done in Pro Tools before I started familiarizing myself with Reason. Thanks again for your comments.

Without an external digital you can't use the effects in reason on pro tools trackside reason is the slave and sends audio to pro tools and not the other way around (except for the play, stop etc.).

The only way you could do so (in my logic) is to have the outgoing audio signal from your interface going back into the inputs. Without a external (digital) mixer that would require you to have the signal in question to be all solo'd which isn't useful.

With an external mixer, I think your able to choose which individual channels feed back into the input so you're able to add fx while hearing the entire track.
Haven worked with it though, so it's kind off a guessing.

So short answer: no it ain't possible as far as I know ;)

Thanks again…I'm started to think the only way is to import those tracks into reason add the effects and send it back to Pro Tools via rewire.
