Trouble recording pitch and modulation automation from control surface with reason 8

Hi all,

hope I am posting in the right place. I need to simultaneously record pitch bend, modulation wheel and 3 rotary controls .

I am using a Korg nanoKontrol2. All of the controller sliders are mapped to the combinator

Slider 1 -> Pitch
Slider 2 -> Modulation
Slider 3-5 -> Rotary 1-3

This all works find and I can listen to the changes in each and every parameter.

The problem comes about when I want to record the automation for the parameters. I have set up automation lanes for every parameter.




As you can see the rotary controls record fine and I can hear the changes in the pitch and mod however nothing gets recorded.

Any Ideas? Thanks in advance.

From your picture it looks as though the automation was recorded? When you press play are you saying the controls do not move?

Problem solved. It would seem that combinator won't let you record pitch and modulation from a control surface unless there is a note lane for the combinator track.

Ye, always have a track for any device you want to control automation
