That would be awesome, assuming that the ones I'm using arent doing the trick. Here's something I made using jazz chord progressions and a bit of freestyle. If this one needs more mixing, I just may ask for a crowdfunding project of some sort. (never done one before) [SOUNDCLOUD]https://soundcloud.com/neonbabylon/solace[/SOUNDCLOUD]

I may have pushed the kick drum a little far

I listened to your track and you are right the kick is way way out front, need to pull into back into the mix so everything rides on it not behind it. Also I love the dynamic range and separation of everything else, it will be more prevalent when you tame the kick for sure. Thanks for sharing, we all learn together

a really dark and loungy mix? Suggest boosting the high's a bit.
Did you do any mastering of some sorts?

If not, if you'd like i could do a little master for ye.

I listened to your song and hear that panning seems to be all to the middle, when I use the pan on mix mixer to listen to right or left I hear because the same things. I do not hear much at all separation? What are the pan settings?

Indeed very monoish sound. But from what i've understand you didn't make any mixing or mastering to them, right ? Otherwise did you check the Learn Reason how to mix tutorials ? If not i highly recommend it, tons of usefull informations.

Thanks for taking a listen guys, I'm actually not using any pans in this song (though It would probably do it some justice). I've just been informed by osmose that the mixing tools in 5 (I know dont judge me) are a little outdated. I could use a stereo imager to widen the sounds a bit, other than that I didnt use too many reverbs in the track. I was wondering what plugins those were in the tutorials haha. I'll end up upgrading eventually, probably sooner than later. I'm sure all my songs could use a once over.

EDIT: The panning effects in the beginning are actually efx reverbs

Let me ask you again, did you check the Learn Reason how to mix tutorials ?

Except if mono it's a desited effect that you wanted panning actually helps you to get a better separation between instruments a better stereo imaging and overall dynamics. The stereo imager by itself won't be able to magically fix everything in your whole track if your mixing is not correctly done. There is others many ways to enhance your overall stereo imaging.

About your Reason version i indeed suggest you to upgrade. The ssl mixer by itself worth the upgrade alone and will make your life easier in Reason.

And again take time to check the Learn Reason tutorials about how to mix and also the video's that introduce the ssl mixer since you never worked with, you won't waste a second of your time.

You'll find all those videos in the link below on the Learn Reason youtube channel.
