Hey folks! Fernando Vega from the Minneapolis, MN, USA. I'm 27 years old and have been using Reason and the various Propellerhead products for years (Recycle in the past and more of the iOS apps as of late). Like the rest of you, I enjoy making music! Not professionally or anything, just more for the therapeutic benefits. Love reason mostly because of the control it gives you over everything. Always had a real "button pushing, knob turning, "oh what does this switch do?!" kind of personality, and Reason definitely caters to my love for experimentation. It never ceases to amaze me how you can start with a simple sine wave in a Thor and wind up with something so complex it would make M.J. himself jump out of the grave and dance!
I've tried other DAWs, but Reason just always wins for me. Partially for the reason mentioned above, but likely just because it's the one I started with and everything else just feels foreign/weird. I guess I'm a Propellerhead for life! Unless they do something that totally kills the software... Like a lot of people, I almost jumped ship at the 8.0 upgrade when they took away the ability to "auto preview" instruments through the browser by clicking and playing on midi! But, I've learned to deal with it, I guess... :-\
Looking forward to shootin' the **** with some of you and hopefully collaborate on some stuff down the road! I'm no Terry Lewis or anything, but I'm always working on getting better. I've got a lot to learn, but I also have a couple of tricks I've picked up along the way that I'd love to share.
